"A showdown over whether San Francisco should ban public nudity is looming as the issue again rears its head."

Oh, no. They went with "rears its head."

"This time," continues the author, "the tipping point may be de to naked men wearing cock rings."

Oh, no, they said "tipping point."

Continues the article: "District 8 Supervisor Scott Wiener disclosed..."

Oh, no!!! His name is Wiener!!!

And he's a different Wiener from the New York guy named Weiner who showed his weiner before he re-bonded with his wife and had that little Weiner!

Anyway, this story is too important to throw out there with silly asides like these.

as a man who lives in the castro neighborhood, this issue has greater importance than jokes about our supervisor's name or accusations of anglo saxon prudery. does a small group of people have a right to enter a community in which it does not live and dictate behavior, especially when this same group would not behave the same way in their own community? if a community is asked to turn its eyes to something it finds offensive and repusive, will it then keep its eyes turned when, say, gay bashers, begin to dictate behavior in that community? i live in the castro and i am a gay man and i am fed up these exhibitionists. if they succeed in turning the castro into a year-round folsom street fair the gay movement is over and i fear for glbt people everywhere. give me a library, a grocery store, a hardware store.. i want my old neighborhood back!
