Elmo Puppeteer Says "I Am A Gay Man!"

UPDATE: ACCUSER RECANTS HIS ALLEGATION!

Kevin Clash is the talented puppeteer who does Elmo on Sesame Street, which is having quite a year what with the unsuccessful Romney attack on Big Bird and all.

But Clash says he doesn't put his hand up minors.

As you've heard, a man came forward and said he had a relationship with Clash which started seven years ago when the man was just 16.

Clash says he did have the relationship, but denies the underage charge and adds, "I am a gay man. I have never been ashamed of this or tried to hide it."

That's nice.

But I remember a recent documentary about Clash which mentioned an ex-wife and a daughter, but I certainly don't remember any gayness being addressed (though I do recall being impressed by Clash's unapologetic flamboyance).

Nor can I find anything gay in this interview Clash did about being a father.

Of course it's quite possible that Clash wasn't exactly encouraged to be open by his producers.

In any case, this whole story doesn't tickle me or Elmo, but the show did an investigation and said they found the charge unsubstantiated, though there was some "poor judgment" on behalf of Clash's behavior--for example, he violated company rules for Internet use--and he was disciplined for it.

Sure enough, the puppeteer is on a break from the show--but it's so he can concentrate on protecting his reputation and deal with the false accusations!

This is getting more and more fascinating.

Recanting doesn't necessarily mean it wasn't true. They probably paid the guy off to take back his allegation. Remember when Travolta's ex boyfriend recanted HIS story?

He's never tried to hide it? Funny, the subject didn't seem to come up in the recent documentary about him on PBS that seemed to be struggling for insight.

The Countess DeLave scurrying to Savannah's assistance:

"L'Amour, L'Amour...Gawd how it can bring you down." Aprés the Buck Winston rahdio show, I upgraded to the NYTimes, who just printed this petit tidébit:

"Andreozzi & Associates, a law firm that said it represented the accuser said in a statement that “he wants it to be known that his sexual relationship with Mr. Clash was an adult consensual relationship.” The statement added, “He will have no further comment on the matter.”

"L'Amour, L'Amour!!

Please lenairxavier. if his being gay is nobody's business, then neither is his having an ex wife and daughter, whom he talked about ENDLESSLY. Don't tell me the gay stuff is what should be private because it's in such poor taste to you, but the other stuff should be rammed down our throats. As Musto has written so many times, it's only when gay stuff comes up that people suddenly go "Nobody's business!" Besides, Clash now says he's out and proud and has always been, so WHAT'S YOUR PROBLEM????

Kevin Clash being gay is NO ONE'S BUSINESS, except his and the people he is having sex with. There's was no reason for it to be in his NYC.gov interview or anywhere else. Every gay person in the public eye does not have to come out. Especially in Kevin Clash's situation since being gay is about one's sex life, which is an ADULT situation that should not be forced on children at the age Elmo is intended to educate and entertain.

I say this to make clear that as many places that I keep seeing posts about Kevin Clash being gay, gay media needs to stop harping on EVERY gay revelation. For to the mainstream, it makes us seem desperate for "gay recruits". Why can't this Kevin Clash be left alone to handle his business? Furthermore, why are we giving this (most likely) gold-digging 23 year old a platform when as corinescorner.com said he should have done this a good deal sooner?

In short, let's check ourselves before we wreck ourselves. Thank you.

He is such a nice man and very attractive. If he had an affair who cares. I think people try to hurt people that are successful. Interesting this is happening now and now seven years ago. I personally think the guy is after money. Does not sound legit.

Why would he have to leave the show to battle this full-time? Sounds fishy, like he's on leave and maybe won't ever come back.

@blissbaby First of all, you have a lot of nerve trying to get computer bold with me with your FACELESS and VOID-OF-A-LINK profile. Your attack on me is so very common. You want to challenge my viewpoint, OWN IT!!!!

Now, to answer your VERY NARROW_MINDED question, looking at the big picture, it's only natural that Kevin Clash would talk about his ex-wife and daughter because they are VERY important parts of his life. His daughter probably more than his ex-wife, since he wouldn't have the daughter he cherishes if not for his time with the ex-wife.

So "WHAT'S MY PROBLEM????", you ask? I believe between my 2 comments I already stated them. Try and keep up.
