"Broadway Bares: Winter Burlesque"! Photos By Christian Freedom
Give people want they want--great choreography, hot bodies, and a terrific cause--and they line up with their tongues out.
Lust in the dust with cowpokes and some horny drag queens
So when Broadway Bares: Winter Burlesque, a benefit for Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS, was announced at xl, tickets went so fast they had to add an extra late show.
I was at the earlier one and fit right in with the audience, which consisted of hundreds of gay men plus Judith Light.
The extraordinary array of imaginatively produced burly-q numbers included:
"By the Sea" (Guys wearing swimsuits with back panels that conveniently dropped out, naturally)
"Spellbound" (A thrilling male-female pas-de-deux of S&M-style power shifting, ending with a hug)
"Raise The Roost" (A cracking Humpty Dumpty cavorting with a bunch of strutting female cocks)
"Talk To The Hand" (An Arabian Nights-style lapdance given to an audience member who was every bit as hot as the dancers)
Also, numbers with a sparkly banker paying for whores, a milkman spilling his liquid over a Paul Bunyan type, and all kinds of other fascinating professionals.
All that teasing made lots of money and also served as a tease for something else--the actual Broadway Bares show in June. See you there in your skivvies.

These gals were a bushel and a peck of fun.

The milkman seems to be grabbing his pasteurizer.

A rare moment of repose, during which I was able to undress the dancers even more with my eyes
