So asked Oprah Winfrey of Cissy Houston, who unhesitantly replied, "Absolutely."

Charming. How progressive. How loving. Are we still at the point where religion can be used to bludgeon human sexuality?

As for Robyn Crawford, Cissy says, "I just didn't want her with my daughter. I know nothing about a romantic relationship. That's what everybody said, but they didn't know either."

Are you starting to get a clearer picture of Whitney's oppression?

She's entitled to her opinion. But she 'wrote' a book which puts her opinions in everybody's face. If you don't want criticism, you shouldn't write a book.

Ah, now I know what Cissy meant when she was singing, "Think It Over" back in the summer of 1978.  (Yes, Cissy recorded a disco album that got a lot of airplay in gay discos!  Apparently she didn't have a problem with us buying her records and making her a little bit richer.)

And then her follow-up was very more foreboding:  "Warning, Danger!"

Exactly, Melinda! I felt that way watching the memorial. These people are basically the ones who killed her and they've learned nothing.

I saw the book excerpt in People - I was stunned. Her daughter is dead and it was like she had learned absolutely nothing.
