He's good. Funny and relaxed.

Smiles at his own jokes, which deflates them of any real harm.

Loved the Ron Jeremy reference, laughed at the Rihanna/Chris Brown joke, like the crack about Meryl not being nominated.

And getting Tommy Lee Jones to laugh in the first 10 seconds was a real accomplishment--not to mention getting a Fred-and-Ginger ballroom dance out of the normally pelvis-thrusting Channing Tatum and Charlize Theron.

And working in the Gay Men's Chorus of Los Angeles! Genius!

"This is more like the Tonys," said a friend. Exactly.

Charlize Theron danced beautifully! Suggesting a whole new direction for her.

All I could think of was, Why is Peter Brady hosting the Oscars?

He reminds me of that person at the party who gets up to 'entertain' and then doesn't know when to stop.

The writing sucked. I waited for the Jaws music to cut short one of his blah bits.

Thought he was terrible, took up too much time with his self involved bits.  Another immature frat boy.

No word as yet as to why the Trapp Family left unceremoniously.

Let's face it, many were expecting (hoping for?) a huge bomb, including myself.

The ratings are up so everyone will suddenly love Seth, trust me.

Also, didn't Jack Nickolson's tux seem completely ill-fitting?  He looked terrible.

I really liked the bit with Sally Field, especially when she admitted that Anne Hathaway was going to win and started kissing him.

Off topic kinda, but OMG, Renée Zellweger looks like a cross between Twiggy form Battlestar Galactica and R2D2. Poor thing.

He sold me with the little Sound of Music/Christopher Plummer joke. Seth is cute and likable in a t.v., for the masses sort of way, which is ironic since he's hosting for a roomful of "thespian" super-egos.

@williamHK Actually he's the reason I didn't bother to watch this year...he really thinks he's got buckets of talent going "untapped."
