Working The Red Carpet Was Intoxicating At The HRC Gala!
I could get used to that sort of thing.
On Saturday night, publicist Ross Schwartz ushered me into a separate room at the Waldorf, where all the notables attending the Human Rights Campaign gala were asked to go onstage, one by one, and pose in front of the step-and-repeat, as photographers snapped away like madpeople.
They'd announce each person's name over the loud speaker as they went up, and I stood there hearing all the biggies--Whoopi Goldberg, Christine Quinn, Cheyenne Jackson, Tim Gunn, and so on, creating a lens-y frenzy that was quite surreal.
And then they said it. Michael Musto. And they even pronounced it correctly!
So I seized my moment and took that stage as if I owned it.
I looked great in my Christian Freedom outfit and posed calmly, pretending my head wasn't spinning and my brain wasn't popping from the excitement.
I even managed to sneak in a few shots with dance diva Kristine W. (see below), who looked even more ravishing than I did.
Thanks, HRC, for affording me this human right.
And thanks to Neal Equality B for the photos.
