An Argentine Gay Reacts In Horror To The New Pope

A source of mine is an Argentinian gay male.

And when he heard about the appointment of Jorge Mario Bergoglio as Pope, he didn't exactly swell with nationalistic pride.

Says the guy:

"Bergoglio appears to have been actively involved in protecting the dictatorship's abuses in the 70's and also of handing over to the death squads two of his own Jesuit priests kidnapped in 1976.

"There is a case against him regarding that and witnesses.

"He also said that anyone who voted for gay marriage in Argentina would go to hell (a
homophobe from hell, but what else is new?). Thank God no one listened to
him and as you know, gay marriage is legal in Argentina now.

"So, just for those two things, no, I am not happy he is the new pope, even if he is a fellow Argentine. In fact, I'm quite disgusted..."

Well, I did some further research and got this from the L.A. Times: "Critics accuse him of failing to stand up publicly against the country's military dictatorship from 1976-83, when victims and their relatives often brought firsthand accounts of torture, death, and kidnappings to the priests he supervised as leader of the Jesuit order in Argentina." Charming!

And of course there are his comments about gay adoption being a discriminatory act against the children!

But look on the bright side. With this new hater-in-a-gown, the church will become more obsolete and out of touch with evolving world views than ever. Just like the Republican party.

I'm rejoicing, actually. On my knees.

Wow that's some impressive "research". I especially LOVE the Wiki sources. PROFESSIONAL!

Did you take a journo class recently? That would be the only excuse for not noticing Obama failing to stand up publicly for marriage equality EVER in fact speaking out AGAINST IT repeatedly....until politically expedient.

Now. Speaking of speaking out against abuse. Exactly WHEN is Obama going to speak out about the abuse of humans conducted by Islamic radicals? OH WAIT. Obama didn't even speak out on the murders in Benghazi that HIS ADMINISTRATION was personally responsible for until he was forced to, and to this day all the 30 or so other victims are under gag order and lock-up. And it's not even the 1970's!

Then we have HIlary promising the dead heroes' families she's going to arrest a video maker who had nothing to do with Benghazi. Then they DID!

Brave, these democrats and don't even have the excuse of being private religious citizens I LOVE your separation of church and state, too.AND the homophobic misogynistic crack "in a gown". WERQ.

Perfect Pope for these times of civil rights being abolished.

I have mixed feelings about saying one Pope is better or worse than another because the social policies of all of them are based on a con game. I do value faith and try to respect a person's right to their beliefs but that's different than respecting the beliefs themselves. The way these things are handled by the media makes it seem legitimate. The Vatican Bamk is involved with money-laundering and the previous Pope protected pedophile priests. It seems like people would stop supporting the church,

You can't say teh Pope is infallible and then say that he's just a man and the Church itself is what matters. The church is based on lies and con games.

The thing is, the World / opinions/ cultures do change, as stated in this article. G-d, a Creator of everything, He wouldn't. His Plan, His Word, Would never age/ change. It isn't the Pope's place to "change" to the will of human wants/ desires/ whims.... It is the responsibility of the Pope, per his job description, to hold true to the Will of G-d.... Yes.?.

You've also not done a true background on the Pope.... Might be a good idea to do a bit more research on someone before criticizing them. Actually, if posting ones words for the world to see, it is ALWAYS a good idea! I saw your written claims, as well... However, I actually looked further. True, he was "accused" (accused being the important word), but never any evidence was given. Evidence was given that he actually did do much- as much as he could, as this wasn't in his area of control. Yet, he did still write, talk w/ those that were behind the kidnappings/ etc, and even negotiated the release of the 2 priests.

He gave up life in the church quarters, for a very humble apartment w/ a small stove for heat. He rode public transport to work each day (& even did this after becoming pope, t retrieve his belongings). He washed and kissed the feet of Aids victims (an act of servitude, not of a dictator). This man is a man of actions, that support his words; NOT a man of words, w/ nothing to back it up. He is a man of Science, having a masters in Chemistry (which was his initial intent), degree in Psychology & Philosophy, as well as Theology.

You're so right. They're driving the nail into their own coffin. And unlike Jesus, there won't be any resurrection.
