Michelle Shocked Finally Speaks Out

On Sunday night, reports came in that singer Michelle Shocked was ranting in concert that God hates gays and that gay marriage would cause the end of civilization.
Aside from a few cryptic twitter responses, Shocked has been pretty mum since then. But now that her tour dates have been canceled by incensed venue owners and the whole world is agog, she speaks:
She says she doesn't hate gays at all. Hardly.
She was misinterpreted.
She was simply talking about the way some people would react to gay marriage--an extreme reaction which she herself doesn't share.
She promises she will try to be clearer in her future statements.
