It's not all thrills and glory, believe it or not.

For years, I say:

"Being gay is wonderful. There's nothing wrong with it. People should be proud to be gay.

"And representation is so important. They should come out and be honest and not only will their own lives improve, but the whole world will be a better place."

And I'm vilified and shouted down and told off and screamed at that it's none of my business.

And then years later, the celeb says:

"Being gay is wonderful. There's nothing wrong with it. People should be proud to be gay.

"And representation is so important. Everyone should come out and be honest and not only will their own lives improve, but the whole world will be a better place."

And people cheer and throw bouquets!

Still, I'm thrilled that things have advanced this far and congratulate everyone who helped that happen.

The more people who come out-the more ignorance and mythology regarding the LGTB community dissipates and goes the way of the "doe doe" bird and the buffalo. Right on Anderson!

No one ever thanks the "cleaning lady" for the sparkling mansion.

usually they only come out after they've lost their relevance...i.e. Ricky Martin and Clay Aiken...assuming he actually ever had any relevance...

But sorry, no GLAAD award for ya. They only like longtime closet cases and "reformed" homophobes.
