Yummiest Food Combo Ever!

No, it's not chicken wings with quinoa. Or Jell-O and caviar. Or Lucky Charms with pesto sauce. Or foie gras chow mein.

It's that old standby, Genoa salami and provolone cheese.

I sauntered into an upscale grocery mart on Sixth Avenue in the 50s the other day and happened upon that very product (as pictured above), which appealed to me for several reasons:

Firstly, it was only $3.49.

Furthermore, I love the salty, fatty, wonderful taste of the old country. I adore the sensible mixing of salami (which is so fancy in this package that they actually call it "salame") and provolone.

They go together--like a Lohan and a lawyer. Like a Kardashian and a trainer. Like a Pope and his assistant-slash-boyfriend.

I'm not recommending this item as a way of life, mind you. In fact, just looking at the package to see how many fat grams I was ingesting, I had a massive heart attack.

But once in a while, it's nice to treat yourself to the old slap and tickle in the form of salame and provolone.

This S&P is going way up in value!
