Songs With Commonly Misunderstood Lyrics

This is a good site for listing all those mistaken words we hum like dummos, never knowing that we're several syllables removed from any semblance of reality.

There's the Billy Joel classic that supposedly goes, "We didn't start the fire/It was always burning/Said the worst attorney."

Tom Jones allegedly crooned the weird words, "She's got style, she's got grace, she's a wiener..."

And CeCe Peniston (above) has been heard (by some misguided folk) to sing, "Vita-Lea, Vita-Lea..."

I have my own personal gaffe to confess. When I first heard the original "Lady Marmalade," I was convinced they were singing "We are Lady Marmalade," but it turned out it was "Creole Lady Marmalade."

I was upset to find that out because I was a little excited that all those women were bragging about being whores.

Ha ha. With a name like "Kissthisguy," it's no wonder Musto came across this site while cruising the 'Net.
