La Dolce Musto: the column

Claymates Bring Down Our National IQ

Posted by Michael Musto at 1:00 PM, February 4, 2008

Claymates are the slowest bunch of doody heads to grace this earth since their miscreant parents voted Bush into the White House. Shameless worshipers of singer Clay Aiken, they clog up the web writing anonymous posts about how drop-dead gorgeous and ultra sweet he is and how they happen to know he's 100%, incontrovertibly straight! These head injury victims are so last century they actually think it's an insult to say someone's gay. In all their ignorant denial, they use as backup
the fact that Clay is unfailingly generous—as if a gay can't do charity work! Ironically, it's because of these Middle American mo haters that Clay can't come out! His people surely tell him, "You must stay ambiguous, hon. There are still swarms of dummos out there who buy your music while clinging to the idea that you like women! In fact, they're your main demographic. So let's not wake them up, OK?" Thanks, you stoops. You're so dimwitted you don't even realize that just by reading this and getting mad, you're helping my blog! Go ahead, get out there and vote some more Republicans into the White House just like your inbred folks did. Four more years of Clay's lobotomizing music can help sugarcoat all the lies and hypocrisy!

Disclosure: In all fairness, I should point out that not every Claymate is a complete psycho. I'd say about one out of nine is a reasonable person with fairly decent taste who was somehow led astray by horrid peer pressure. But that doesn't make them any less offensive!

Looking for hits, are you?

Of course, there is anything wrong with being gay so enjoy your gayness and leave other people alone

BRAVO Michael Musto. BRAVO!

Posted by: MustoFan at February 4, 2008 1:54 PM

Michael Musto for President!!!

Love,
Jen - an actual Claymate who realized Clay was gay as soon as he opened his mouth.

Posted by: Jen at February 4, 2008 1:55 PM

Is it is so sad that if Clay was more forthcoming about himself, everyone would eventually benefit.

Michael Musto does not need the attention or the "hits". He is trying to do the Claymates and Clay a favor. You all should listen to him.

Posted by: truthinentertainment at February 4, 2008 1:55 PM

No, I'm looking to fade into obscurity. Of COURSE I'm looking for hits. Thanks for clicking on it.

"No, I'm looking to fade into obscurity. Of COURSE I'm looking for hits. Thanks for clicking on it.

Posted by: musto at February 4, 2008 1:56 PM"

You're magnificent. Keep on top of the lunacy of Claymates. They'll try to stay away to not give you hits, but they won't be able to resist posting here, because they're driven to sing the praises of Clay Aiken everywhere there's a hint of naysaying.

You're divine dahlin'!

Posted by: Curious Reader at February 4, 2008 2:47 PM

LMAO!!! An apt description of those Claymates, MM!!! LOL

Posted by: MMROCKS at February 4, 2008 2:51 PM

I'm one of the nine Claymates with good taste! I don't care if he's gay, straight or purple, but WAKE UP AND SMELL THE COFFEE PEOPLE!!! He's a queen. Get used to it.

Posted by: claymate at February 4, 2008 3:09 PM

Amazing...You are so right and they tremble in their boots (or their knee highs rolled down to their tennis shoes) for the day he finally admits it. However, as you pointed out, his only way of cashing in is with the moo cows that support him, so of course he is now ASEXUAL... Yes Michael, they are head injury victims.

Posted by: angie at February 4, 2008 3:18 PM

Claymate's will no doubt be adding Musto's name to their Gay Mafia hit list. LMAO! Bravo Musto! Except they ain't young girls, most are older women.

Posted by: lolololol at February 4, 2008 3:23 PM

Michael, I think you should do an expose on Fake Clay. It's such a twisted tale you could do an entire series.

Posted by: gayken fan at February 4, 2008 3:27 PM

Since I already gave you the hit, I might as well speak my mind. What does it matter if he is or he isn't? Why isn't it ok for his fans to think he's mega-talented and gorgeous? Whether he really is gay or not, is his business and I will never understand your angry militant, hurtful attitude. You sound like an angry old jealous hag. Is the gay community happy to be represented by this behavior? Gay or not, he IS mega-talented, sweet and gorgeous to many and he is not the first questionable personality to have a huge female following. Grow up! He says he isn't gay. What kind of a FAN wouldn't defend him? Does it feel good to be such a creep?

Posted by: OHWOW at February 4, 2008 3:31 PM

Michael Musto you are one brave soul! but now you have upgraded yourself to Super Enemy #1 to the Faiken CultNation, beware. You have NO IDEA what they are capable of, ask John Paulus. Thanks for telling it like it is. BRAVO!

Posted by: Booyah at February 4, 2008 3:34 PM

Oh boy this was a long time coming and of course it would be Michael Musto to be the one to take off the damn gloves and tell the truth, straight no chaser. Yep, pun intended. Maybe one of them will open their eyes. Eh, maybe not, after all if they couldn't see it by now, they don't want to see it.

Posted by: brooklyngal at February 4, 2008 3:45 PM

2 Bad Musto who does not actually have a "Talent" is Gay-Bashing the Vocally gifted Mr Aiken!!!!!!!

Posted by: JULES at February 4, 2008 4:05 PM

I wonder if Liberace's fans were as nutty... bravo Mr. Musto!

Posted by: nellis at February 4, 2008 4:06 PM

Good article, but the author leads with an erroneous statement: "Claymates are the slowest bunch of doody heads to grace this earth since their miscreant parents voted Bush into the White House."

Michael, the Claymates are a "mature" group; it was their grandchildren, not their parents who voted the first Bush into power.

Posted by: onething at February 4, 2008 4:50 PM

The gay community is its own worst enemy. They do not want to be stereotyped then they, themselves, go out and do the same thing by labeling Clay Aiken as gay just because of his voice, mannerisms, not out in public with a female date, etc. They do not want such stereotyping to occur, yet they do it themselves. Talk about dimwits! Clay's fans DO NOT CARE if he is gay or straight. They just want people like Musto to leave him and them alone

Posted by: Avery at February 4, 2008 4:51 PM

As Craig Ferguson would say....I KNOW!! Isn't it infuriating these claymates and their delusional homophobia?!?! You hit it perfectly, MM! Muah! Luv ya!

Posted by: iKNOW at February 4, 2008 5:23 PM

Hey, say what you will about me, Clay, and the Claymates, but DON'T call me a Republican!!!! That I CAN'T take. And BTW, Clay is a registered Democrat...

Posted by: Claym8 at February 4, 2008 5:26 PM

Oh, Musto! You are so amazingly brilliant-thou who is gifted with inside knowledge of Clay Aiken's sexuality! How did the planet exist, before you decided that Clay was gay? You saved us from the bad old days, when a person got to self-identify. Now we have YOU, Musto, to identify us all!

Please o great one, can you cure cancer now???

Posted by: vtime at February 4, 2008 5:36 PM

Now who's the one lacking in IQ? Musto is missing a huge chunk of intelligence. Why would a man choose the more difficult option of maintaining his stand that he is straight when everyone knows that taking the Lance Bass route is easier? Logic tells you that its because he isn't gay and if it takes a lifetime of harassment by dimwits like Musto, then that's what it takes, because he isn't gay. Clay's fans have heard it all and they aren't going to be surprised by anything Musto can dish out. They're not innocent or stupid. I think Musto needs to get a grip and realize he's beating a dead horse.

Posted by: Dan at February 4, 2008 5:59 PM

Dan is full of it if he believes that a gay public figure has an easier time coming out than they do staying closeted. Just ask Larry Craig.

Besides, Aiken does not maintain his stand that he is straight. He's not made that claim for years. He seems to have been stopped by the filing of an FTC complaint for fraud by a group of fans that were disgruntled that Aiken was probably gay. They named Aiken's record company, as well as his male hairdresser/assistant.

Since then, Clay has refused to confirm or deny anything, apparently for fear of getting sued by his fans.

Posted by: Chexxxy at February 4, 2008 6:21 PM

Just so you know Michael, there are many of us Republicans out here who think Clay fans are nuts. Just because I am generally a Republican voter, please don't lump me in with this dimwitted group of middle aged women. I am not a homophobe in the least and wish his fans would stop with the insanity. Let the man out of his closet you nutjobs!!

Posted by: Stacey at February 4, 2008 6:23 PM

Liberace's fans were years ahead of their time; my grandmother was one. The vast majority knew he was gay - they just didn't care and kept quiet about it. To this day they get laughed at by clueless dumbasses.

Clay fans are also way ahead of thier time. They don't give a F*&K about his sexuality - or anybody else's for that matter - and when they fight for his or anyone's right of self-identification they get called "homophobic".

Musto you are so.....80's. Nowadays if someone says they aren't gay, they aren't. And if they say they are, they are. Nothing else matters. Not even anyone's suspicions or speculation. Not even yours. That's the way they do things now, or that's how they will do it when the rest of the world grows up.

Retro is forever chic but really, you should try to keep up.

Posted by: Pookie the Claymate at February 4, 2008 6:35 PM

I believe Clay's fans DO care if he is gay and he believes it as well. Why else would he maintain this ambiguous crap and comment on his own sex life? UGH!

* Nice trick for getting hits Musto. I should try this. ;)

Posted by: Liz at February 4, 2008 6:57 PM

Hey Jules 4:05.... because a person notes that another is gay is not 'gay bashing'. Gay bashing is what many of Clays fans do when an openly gay man, such as Mr. Musto, makes comments about their BF and they begin making many derrogatory remarks regarding his sexuality. grow up.

Posted by: prozac at February 4, 2008 7:01 PM

Clay isn't a politician looking for votes. He's a pop star and they aren't held to the same standard. When Lance Bass came out everyone said So? And then they yawned.

If he were gay he would have said so and went on making music for his fans who love him no matter what he says or does. This is the thing others don't understand. His fans don't care, they just want people to leave him alone.

Posted by: Dan at February 4, 2008 7:14 PM

I'm a fan that happens to believe Clay is gay and it wouldn't bother me one bit if he ever came out.

You, on the other hand are an asshole, and if it were me, I'd rather be gay than an asshole.

Posted by: stuffit at February 4, 2008 7:29 PM

Thank you Musto for calling these Claymates out for who they truly are. They are hated throughout the internet music communities for their complete devotion to that closeted homo and their inane lunacy.

Bravo.

Posted by: Neverafan at February 4, 2008 7:48 PM

you are just jealous because you don't have any fans going around doing for you like they do clay. SO WHAT!!!!! IF CLAY IS GAY IT DOESN'T MATTER WE WILL LOVE HIM EITHER WAY. Get over it move along and rag somebody eles and leave clay alone!!!!!

BLOGBLIGHT ALERT!

This blog is infested with blogblight: n. Malicious lies, half-truths, distortions and insinuations perpetuated mindlessly by bloggers publishing misinformation, photos or video from each others blogs, or the tabloids, with no thought to the veracity, authenticity or libelous nature of the content.

The blight bloggers range from professional journalists (who should know better) down to the celebrity gossip hacks. Similar blight occurs in the other news media (tabloids) as well, but is more pervasive on the internet because of the anonymity accorded many of those who perpetuate it.

Blogblight undermines one of the basic values of the internet, information sharing. Rather than seeing legitimate and accurate information, internet users see blogblight instead.

This blog also has a bad case of DumBlight.

Posted by: BlogBlightBuster at February 4, 2008 9:03 PM

Why doesn't Clay come out you ask??? Because you can't come out of the closet when you were never in there to begin with! And he never was!! Accept it!!

Homophobic is just a word that the gay community created to make those who do not care for the gay lifestyle look stupid. Homophobic = afraid of gays? Well, I'm not afraid of gays in the least. But I have as much right to my thoughts about the gay community's lifestyle as you do about me. So quit cutting down people for their views. And leave Clay alone. You don't have a clue as to whether he is gay or not. Who would have thought Rock Hudson was gay. Its not how you talk or what you look like that makes you gay or not gay. You have proven your ignorance and lack of intelligence by not only being prejudiced against those you continue to call "homophobic" but also by being prejudiced and biased against "old ladies". You too will be older one day and the younger generation will look down on you as you do on us. My last words for you, "Grow up and quit acting like an elementary school kid!"

Posted by: JD at February 4, 2008 9:22 PM

Michael, if you dig deep you'll see the dirty side of the fandom. It would make for an explosive expose. Most have no idea what goes on in the cult known as Clay Nation.

Posted by: charlston at February 4, 2008 10:12 PM

I admit it, I'm an idiot for clicking your damned link.

Slow news day Musto??

Posted by: idiot buster at February 4, 2008 10:26 PM

You don't have to dig deep...just Google Clay Aiken and read some of the fan boards. I feel sorry for the guy. Just think how ANYONE would feel if your mama's friends were throwing their underwear at you and your mama told you "Give the ladies what they want Clayton." Just YUCK!!

Posted by: RainbowRuth at February 4, 2008 11:40 PM

Hey Wanda?

"you are just jealous because you don't have any fans going around doing for you like they do clay."
I would love to "go around doing for Michael", but unfortunately he doesn't inspire half the snarky "what an asshole!" blog posts that Clay does. With good reason, as few celebrities outside of Tom Cruise let their A-hole flags fly as freely as Clay does.

On the other hand, if you'd like to inspire me to "go around doing", why don't you start a "Michael Musto Sux" thread at WaldoSpotters.org or ClayThinksMyAppliquedSweatshirtIsHott.net and I'll be happy to register and write endless "u r jus jellus!" posts.

Posted by: Wellbutrin at February 5, 2008 2:50 AM

Bingo! You got a hit from me, but I suspect it is Clay who "hits you" right where it hurts the most - otherwise, why would one be wasting so much of their time re-hashing (for the umpteenth time) a subject that has become VERY OLD? It's A-o.k. that you don't get it with Clay because you know nothing about him, obviously. Clay is a singer who possesses something very few entertainers have. It's called "charisma" (and if you haven't seen him in concert, you wouldn't have a clue)...If you ever saw Elvis perform (do you even know who he is??), you'd recognize it... Well, Clay's got it in spades and, yes, the women LOVE IT! So what??? You don't understand it, right? That's why it bothers you so much cuz you look at this guy who's just an average looking young man and he's got all these women in love with him,,,and you just can't handle it! Period!

Posted by: CP at February 5, 2008 3:12 AM

Clay is terrific in Spamalot!!

Posted by: Madison at February 5, 2008 3:27 AM

Admit your hypocrisy here. I noticed on the VV's story about Clay that the first half-dozen comments were all anti-Clay and Clay fan. The obsessiveness of the Clay haters is at least as powerful as the obsessiveness of his fans.

I don't know the man. He marches to his own drum - and no amount of bullying from anyone is going to get him to march in their parade.

Posted by: another mindless clay fan at February 5, 2008 6:30 AM

Well, at least Clay's fans don't wear huge parrots on their heads like Jimmy Buffett's fans do!

Posted by: Toby's mom at February 5, 2008 6:56 AM

I will *not* respond to that article!

Posted by: mkjtf at February 5, 2008 7:37 AM

Greetings,

Why can't everyone take Clay Aiken for what he is -- a sheltered, younger than his age, Southern-gentleman who is multi-talented, who was raised by women, and therefore has much admiration and respect for women in general, and thus is not a womanizer.

What all this nastiness has to be is you want Clay to look as badly confused as you yourself are, because YOU ARE THE GAY ONE - NOT CLAY !!! I feel sorry for you !!! People like you who have no credible abilities yourself, so as to have to depend on the fame and accomplishment of others and so you are living off of them. How sad, proud of that are you ?

Go ahead, write your stupid insignificant column. Mean while Clay is laughing all the way to the bank.

What was it that another 'voice' had to say about the written vicious gossip in entertainment, "Just spell my name right". LOL

God bless us all !

Regards, SKS

JD's post is hilarious from start to finish. Thanks for proving Michael right, darling! 'Gay-lifestyle' indeed...I've forgotten the secret handshake! And "I have a right to my opinions just like you so stop voicing yours!" Republican logic in action.
Actually this whole thread is hilarious.

SHARON SHANNON.. PLEASE woman, where have you been the last five years. If you truly believe what you just wrote, than go back into your house, sit on your sofa and open a six pack of Twinkies cause you are in the twilight zone. Clay Aiken is gay, he has had a two year affair with his hairstylist, a plethora of one nighters and absolutely loathes his fans. He is not a people person. Everyone he was great friends with from Idol no longer exist in his life. His friends from before Idol, that stuck by him are now thrown away as well. He is a selfish prick and he is NOT that talented. He is a very lazy person. I foresee him ending his run of Spamalot sooner due to some unforeseen illness that he always seems to get when he has to work too hard.

Posted by: angie at February 5, 2008 12:41 PM

Hey Mr./Ms. "truthinentertainment"...you are just as blind as nasty Mr. Musto.

Someday maybe you will both see the light.

Evidently you haven heard the talk of Clay and a certain female Spamalot castmember cuddling behind the scenes.

Posted by: Evan at February 5, 2008 5:51 PM

Although I am a very strong supporter/fan of Clay Aiken, I do not consider myself to be a Claymate. Although some may define themselves in such a limited way, I find the term offensive. I am an Ivy League student, a mother, a vegetarian, and a lover of the arts. I am passionate about politics and the environment. My musical tastes are ecclectic. I have traveled abroad on numerous occasions, and politically, I consider myself to be an Independent.

I have no vested interest in Clay Aiken's sexual orientation. I have a child who is gay and who is legally married. My interests in Clay Aiken involve his musical talents and his philanthropic endeavors.

There is so much going on in the world right now. There are wars, dictatorships and genocide taking place in many different countries. People are starving and others are dying of AIDS. The US is, arguably, in the midst of a recession. People are losing their homes to forclosure. We face imminent danger from terrorists at home and abroad. Why there is so much focus on trying to "out" ANYONE in the music, entertainment, and news industries is beyond me. Unlike you, Mr. Musto, I believe that there are many people out there who struggle with coming to terms with their own sexuality. It is a very private matter and any person who crosses the line into that part of a person's private life is despicable in my mind. I am a fan of Clay Aiken and I respect his talent. I could care less about such a private part of his life. I have too many other things to worry about. Oh, Mr. Musto, in case you are unaware of things in the real world, we are in the midst of determining who the next leader of this country will be.
OBAMA 2008 (if I am giving YOU a hit....I will give one to Obama, too!)

Posted by: em at February 5, 2008 6:56 PM

Calling JUST ONE real life friend of Clay's to end this debate...any time, any where. He's plum tuckered out and not talking. Unless of course he likes it this way... I don't think he really likes the speculation, but just would rather not go on record. If that's the case Claymates...you really ought to back off.

Posted by: PS at February 5, 2008 9:08 PM

Has anyone noticed that most of the Clay-defenders/Musto-bashers cannot write properly? It's a fun game: how many grammatical errors can you find in their rants?

And yes, CP, I'm sure Musto is picking on Aiken because "he's got all these women in love with him,,," and he just can't handle it. Very, very convincing, congratulations on your logic.

Posted by: bwah-bwah at February 7, 2008 9:14 PM

No species of animal can survive if its wired to lust after the same sex members within its own species. That's just the facts, Jack.

To spread the same kind of ignorant hatred your spreading, I'll tell you what the solution to the gay problem is. We'll dump all the gays and lesbians on one island (and because we love you so much, we'll make it a nice one) and in one generation, you'll be gone.

You may not like the Republicans' laws, but at least they recognize nature's laws. Unlike the Deomocrats who would try to repeal the law of gravity if they thought it would get them more votes. Next you'll be telling us that PETA makes sense when they try to tell us that we all should be vegetarians too, flying in the face of the logic of our omnivorous dental work. Then all you reality-denying Democrats can go on a march with your vegan friends, who will pollute the seven seas to make a pair of vinyl shoes out of oil rather than kill a cow.

At least in the last century, people understood how a planetary eco-system works, and didn't try to legislate natural laws governing reproduction, the food chain, and the wise use of resources.

You used the insult "imbred parents" knowing that it's really a lie. Most people who vote Republican may not agree with you, but they haven't been breeding with their relatives. On the other hand, flaming fags really do like show tunes, diva behavior, swishy hips, flappy hands and girly shit. Gays who choose to fit into society are few and far between because they're driven to flamboyant behavior by their mental illness.

Just because Clay fans are wrong for trying to impress their sexuality upon Clay, doesn't somehow validate a correctness about homosexuality. I agree that the Claymates are their own brand of lunatics, but gays are too. I guess that makes you equal.

Just spreading the love, baby.

Posted by: GFY at February 8, 2008 8:36 AM

Well, THAT is just the worst example of foreplay I have ever read.

Posted by: Tim at February 8, 2008 11:16 AM

...you reality-denying Democrats.."

Funniest thing I've read all week!

Posted by: GiorgioNYC at February 8, 2008 1:43 PM

GFY, thank you for confirming the theory of my earlier post: although Clay-adoration and bigoted hatred may be within your grasp, basic English grammar is not. Is that why you're (or should I say "your"?) so bitter?

Posted by: ugh at February 9, 2008 11:09 AM

Ugh: Sorry for the typo. I bow to those who NEVER make them.

A typo doesn't invalidate a legitimate argument anymore than a typo-free load of drivel is any less meaningless.

You may be able to proofread, but apparently you have problems with reading for comprehension. I said Clay's fans were their own brand of lunatics, but never did I express any Clay-adoration.

My opinion is not "bigoted". Homosexuals, who flamboyantly push the Gay Rights public agenda, are just as reality-denying as the Claymates.

(Bigot: A person who is utterly intolerant of any differing creed, belief, or opinion.)

My problem is with a person who uses the words...

slowest bunch of doody heads
miscreant parents
head injury victims are so last century
Middle American mo haters
swarms of dummos
you stoops
dimwitted
inbred folks

...to describe a broader group, than just Claymates, who voted Republican. Why are gays allowed to hurl insults at people who are opposed to their agenda, without consequence, but anyone who believes that homosexuality is an aberration is a "hater"? What makes Mr. Musto, or those who support his statements, any less of a hater or bigot?

Concluding that homosexuality is against nature is a conclusion that is free of either emotion; love or hate.

I'm not bitter. I'm just continually agog at the Gay Rights Activists (POT) calling the Claymates or other special interest groups (KETTLE) black. Perhaps the first step for homosexuals to be accepted is to stop judging and hating everyone who is not.

My point was that just as Claymates may spend time clogging up the web defending the virtue of Clay, attacking everyone who besmirched him in any way... hard-core Gay Rights Activists also spend their time clogging up the web attempting to out everyone they think is gay, and attacking everyone who doesn't agree with their opinion. Both groups are equally delusional and nasty when doing so.

So to reiterate my final point, I'm just spreading the same kind of love, baby. Obviously, you didn't get my sarcasm the first time around. If you weren't so busy looking for grammatical errors, perhaps you may have understood my underlying message.

Disclosure: In all fairness, I should point out that not every gay is a complete psycho. I'd say about one out of nine is a reasonable person with fairly decent taste who was somehow led astray by horrid peer pressure. But that doesn't make them any less offensive!

Posted by: GFY at February 9, 2008 2:46 PM

"Disclosure: In all fairness, I should point out that not every gay is a complete psycho. I'd say about one out of nine is a reasonable person with fairly decent taste who was somehow led astray by horrid peer pressure. But that doesn't make them any less offensive!"
This, according to your definition, GFY, does not make you a bigot?

Also: "Concluding that homosexuality is against nature is a conclusion that is free of either emotion; love or hate." You forgot one thing your conclusion is also free of: reason. (And nice try, but you still haven't got English grammar and punctuation under control. Naturally semi-colons are tricky for people living in a pre-Enlightenment world. Keep reaching for the stars, though, you're getting better!)

Hey grammar queen: The sentence you quoted as proof of bigotry, is not mine at all. It is Mr. Musto's disclaimer, quoted word for word, except I substituted "gay" in place of "Claymates" to make the point that the bigotry flows from your commmunity as much as, if not more than, the Claymates. Apparently, your eye for bigotry only looks one way.

Still haven't got that reading for comprehension thing down yet, have you?

My conclusion is a reasonable one because any species that can't reproduce itself is against nature. You may not like it, you don't even have to agree with it, but it is reasonable.

This article could be about any number of American Idol fans. They are all nuts when it comes to their "man".

Best Clay Blog ever. Poor guy, he can't come out. It will be a good day when he can.
