Howard Stern Costars With a Corpse

Yes, the shock jock is back in a film and this one might make his Private Parts look even bigger by comparison. It's a digital video feature called The Calistra Zipper Story based on the sardonic story of a guy who wheels his daughter's taxidermied corpse all over the place, most notably into Stern's esteemed radio studio.

Another featured player in the film is highly preserved drag queen Alexis Del Lago, whom I've had the ill-ustrious honor of working with. (Cue music for flashback.) We were in a version of Sweet Bird of Youth by Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman, way back at the ‘80s club Danceteria. I played a gossip reporter--a real stretch--and I'll never forget how at a rehearsal, when I read the catty speech I'd been asked to write for my character, the whole cast erupted into peals of laughter, convinced I was stealing the show. Except for Alexis. She started screaming bloody murder and made sure the scene was whittled way down so it wouldn't interfere with her greatness. A real team player. (End music for flashback.)

Anyway, a much YOUNGER drag queen--Candice Cash--also makes a Zipper appearance, and that's who this YouTube video shines a tawdry spotlight on. Whether the film itself should be taxidermied I'll leave to the public at (not so) large.

shiver me quivers says:

Why would Howard Stern lend his name to a piece of obvious shit like this?

chance wayne says:

Alexis is that crazy old queen who was in the movie about Jackie Curtis. Isn't she living in a rest home or something?

I love Alexis!!! I thought she had moved back with her family in PR. How does one network such a part from the caribean? I'm just glad she's back and 'hope to see more of her!!!

The Late Tallulah Bankhead says:

Don't be so mean to poor Alexis Del Lago, Michael, that gloriously imperious bitch is now 70 years old, probably wearing gold lame Depends and desperately trying to land a commercial for Efferdent or Polygrip or God only knows what. And she'd be fabulous!

Craig Calman says:

Michael, please know that Alexis has reformed completely and is now a complete team player. She has learned the hard way that being a gracious professional is better than stomping about as a temperamental diva. You didn't mention my name, but I, Craig Calman, created "The Calistra Zipper Story" and Alexis, who is the Special Guest Star, was a real delight to work with, cooperative and generous of her talents.

Craig Calman says:

I, Craig Calman, director of "The Calistra Zipper Story" must correct a grave misperception that is circulating among the public these days. Everyone is saying that I am Anthony Zipper, the man who taxidermied his own daughter. That is not true! I am a writer, actor and director who has NEVER taxidermied ANYONE. Mr. Zipper contacted me in 2000 after he had been invited to appear live with his daughter on The Howard Stern Show and begged me to go in his place. Mr. Zipper is an extremely shy individual and has a fear of flying so he would NEVER have traveled by air from California to NYC let alone appear on national television (the show was aired on both CBS-TV AND E! Entertainment TV following the national FM radio broadcast on 10/31/00. It is true Mr. Zipper and I look very much alike. But we are NOT the same people.
