Faye Dunaway is bonkers, but that's her genius. She gave her best performances playing total nuts (Network, Mommie Dearest).

She needs to relax and stop fighting Mommie Dearest. it is what it is. And wha;'s good about it is pretty amazing. I never understood stars feeling certain topics are off limits. Faye is nuttier than a fruitcake. When she toured in the stage production of "The Master Class," she didn't even pretend she was playing Maria Callas -- she was FAYE! And offstage! She threw a piece of fish at her private chef (proving she does like to throw things), insisted on having new telephones installed in her hotel rooms, once demanded that a hotel rip up the carpeting in her room and replace it. This was told to me by a publicist who had a near-nervous breakdown trying to deal with La Dunaway's eccentricities.

Just watched her as Evelyn Mulray in the brilliant "Chinatown." She's good and Polanski says he couldn't imagine anyone doing the role as well. She's brilliant and her gay son is hot.
