The long list includes:

1) Carrie was unavailable for the pageant-organized interviews. She committed to only 1 of the 17 interviews that were scheduled. Sadly, the
pageant had pitched 46 different entities for press interviews with Carrie but only 17 agreed. The others refused because of the controversy that
Carrie was embroiled in.

2) The main sponsors for Miss California USA sent letters to the organization claiming that they will no longer sponsor the pageant because
of the controversy that Carrie had caused. Her statements against gay marriage and rights and the lies regarding images of her (thanks to
TheDirty.com) had appalled the sponsors and their clients.

3) The costs for the organization to deal with the controversies caused by Carrie far outweighed the revenues they could possibly ever recoup from her representation. These costs were primarily legal fees including notifying Carrie of her multiple contract breaches as well as the public relations costs for the unremitting damage control.

The only recourse the pageant had was to fire Carrie Prejean...

Don, your illiterate comments are every bit as unfocused and inarticulate as the ones that got Carrie booted from the pageant in the first place. If you homophobes would at least try to phrase your reasonings so they were in intelligible English, it would really help your cause a little.

Now Carrie says that the head of the pageant DID approve (and even encourage) her to do Playboy and "But I'm a Celebrity." Ths battle isn't over yet.

It's not about the marriage issue, it's about civil rights. For me it's also about religious bullying and hypocrisy.

It's about equal treatment under the law. Gays still have no Federal civil rights protection. Gays can be denied job,a roof over their head, medical treatment,etc. etc.

Many states won't allow domestic
partnerships even among straights because it undermines religious control. Prop 8 should unconstitutional because christian organizations like the Mormon and Catholic Churches purchased enough media time to sway public opinion. Their tax exempt status should be stripped away. It won't because the politicians fear them and need those fund raising networks. This country is completely fucked up!

But it's good Carrie PreyJean is gone. Too bad she's going to be the poster girl for Fox and the christians. The thing is people are upset with gay people like Perez Hilton for not respecting Carrie's opinion. I actually understand that. She is right when she says Barack Obama is against it, and so are the majority of people in the country. Obama's the one who tickles me (not in a good way), since he wouldn't be here if the laws were still on the books re interracial marriage which the Supreme Court overturned in 1967, six years after his birth . . . with 72% of Americans still against it. (Prior to that, like gay marriage, it went on a state to state basis.) But in answering the question, Carrie said "that's how I was raised," which implies she cannot think for herself and would rather defer to others to think for her, in this case her family. That doesn't fly with me because I know cool people who were raised by bigots. It's an excuse.

If there were actual contract violations on the part of Miss Prejean, then fine, take away her crown. But that still doesn't wipe out the fact that Musto and Hilton continue to pollute the public discourse with intolerance and childish name-calling.
