Gay Priests are not the problem in this on going decay of the very foundations of the Roman Catholic Church. The sexually aggressive, sexually predatory Catholic Clergy are the one's who need to be ousted and punished. Bishops are aware of these men who prey on the innocent and vulnerable and yet continue to enable and protect them.
But if they truly wish to "OUT" the Gay Clergy, then begin at the Very Top....Start with the Sacred College of Cardinals; then the Bishops; then the lower level clergy (Priests, Brothers, Deacons & Nuns). That would be quite a house cleaning. But would there be anyone left?

The Roman Catholic priesthood is a predominantly gay profession. Most of the straight priests have left the Vatican's world-wide gay culture, got on with their lives, married and are raising families.

I definitely know for a fact my Church had a gay priest and also a very hot straight one. Oh where to being with the nuns? The music composition, however, left a lot to be desired. I am just not religious anymore. Why? Because the whole doctrine is quite ridiculous and its positions on birth control and gay marriage. And sometimes I wonder if the Church is so big on charity they would spend less on the stained glass windows and more on helping the poor. I am not even going to fake Christmas anymore. This goy will likely be having Chinese food and going to movies.

The Vatican has a world-wide gay culture? I guessed I missed that when I went there at 17 (Family trip. I come from a Super Catholic family. My mother would have probably taken me coming out of the closest better than me telling her I was an atheist and she's also liberal, strangely.) Somebody should have informed Jim McGreevey before he left to be Episcopalian with his sugar daddy.

Father Steve Jeselnick, the priest who abused me, is still in active ministry. He lives openly with his lover of 20 years in Baltimore. A priest's sexual orientation or their inablity has nothing to do with the predatory nature of many priests. Although he is a long term relationship, I was recently contacted by a former seminarian who told me that Father Jeselnick recently aggressively pursued him in hopes of a sexual relationship.
The Catholic Church heirarchy will not change; hopefully by outing these hypocrites at least change can be affected from the outside and these con men will lose their power over their flocks. And everyon knows what happens to sheep.

I would think the quietly desperate priests would be those who abstaining from sex completely as required by church canon.
