And what about personal responsibility? Labeling someone with AIDS a criminal and his partner a total victim was a popular thing to do back then, and Marc fueled into that hysteria. Besides, he didn't have AIDS, so his fears were bogus!!!

Clem, you must be a professional psychologist, to say that if people do not have AIDs, then their fear of getting it is "bogus" !! Actually it is difficult to prosecute the idiots who deliberately tried/try to infect men or women with AIDs, and so protecting potential victims is still difficult. If Hudson was so stupid/insensitive/craven to tell his sexual partner he had AIDs then his estate should pay up --=

I should have said his fears were "unfounded" rather than bogus.

But my point is:

Back then, gays knew about the horror of AIDS--I was there--and everyone took precautions, assuming that everyone you slept with had it. (That should still be the case today, even if it isn't.)

Marc fueled into the hysteria and the blame game, playing victim (which it turned out he wasn't) all while trying to grub money out of his famous lover's estate. Which he did.

I think Armistead Maupin made it very clear, via his alter ego Michael Tolliver, that he fucked Rock.

Christian loudly claimed after the court ruling that he would donate a portion of his winnings...oh, sorry, SETTLEMENT...to AIDS charities. Has anybody ever checked that out? Because I very much doubt he spent a dime on anybody but himself.

Michael Musto needs to check his facts BEFORE saying someone is dead. Marc Christian may well have passed.... however; the single source of this news was a voicemail message left by a former Rock Hudson associate for another former Rock Hudson associate - they didn't even talk - so it's still very sketchy as to its veracity and now the Advocate and Arianna Huffington are reporting it as fact BASED SOLELY on Michael Musto's blurb which came from fourthhand gossip of this single voicemail. Way to go Michael, The Advocate and Ms. Huffington, your combined journalistic integrity is underwhelming.

I had the very unfortunate experience of being held down and raped by this sad excuse for a human being nearly 25 years ago. He would not stop even as I repeatedly said no and tried to push him off of me. I had an asthma attack during the incident, wept and still he continued. I will never forget praying through tears that it would soon be over. Never let it be said that those who abuse or take advantage of others don't somehow pay for their actions.

I met Marc Christian at Studio One in LA in 1984. He was very handsome, charming and had quite a large penis.

A journalist now tells me there have been reports of Marc's death before and they haven't been able to be confirmed because they were fakes that came from Marc himself!!

I find it very hard to believe that Marc Christian raped anyone as the other poster stated. I meet and slept with Marc in the late '80s and the guy was absolutely gorgeous, charming, and hung like Seabiscuit,90% of West Hollywood would have went to bed with him.

All this discussion has me wondering what Marc Christian looked or looks like. I cannot locate a picture on Google. Any thoughts on how to find one?

Yes, Page 6 in the NY Post had a piece today (no pun intended) on Dunne and mentioned that one of his lovers had been Frederick Combs, one of the stars of the movie The Boys in the Band (among other things in a successful career).

Now someone is claiming Marc died in September of pneumonia and they went to the memorial. Weirder and weirder.

In 1999 my roommate and I moved to Los Angeles. We were fresh off the bus from Louisiana. We got out our gay guide to LA out and ended up in a bar called the Oasis in Studio City. The first person we met was Marc Christian. He took us under his wing and affectiontaley referred to us as "his kids". While Marc was a controversial figure in the gay community and was often portrayed negatively, the Marc I knew was generous, kind, and welcoming. I will always be thankful for the times we all shared eating at Sitton's, watching movies and old news footage, hearing him lovingly tell stories about memorabilia and old photos. I hope this story is not true but if it is I am deeply saddened. You will be missed.

One more update: Now I'm told that Mark died in March or April and it wasn't reported because his real full name isn't Marc Christian so it wasn't noticed.

A small memorial was supposedly held at his home in July.

I'll pursue this in a few moments.

I met Marc in the early 90's. He was in a store in West Hollywood where I was working. He asked me out on a date. We went to see a movie, and after ended up back at his place.
He was a very sweet guy. Gentle and quiet. Very manly. He was a great kisser, and yes he had a very big penis, but he was so much more.
We went out one or two more times, and then sort of went out seperate ways. I have nothing bad to report about him.

I don't think a "sweet man" would go to court and demand mega-money from someone had supposedly loved after he had tested negative. He sounds like a smarmy asshole to me. I bet he had zero musical talent.

a.m. from complications caused by pneumonia. He would have been 56 this
month.

The comment by JDR is correct. Marc would have been 56 three weeks after his passing on June 2. He did not have HIV or AIDS. Stresses and depression led to his illness that caused pheumonia. We became friends in 1971 in high school, fooled around as underage teens, hung out at his family home, experienced life in West Hollywood as young men, his relationship with Rock and the years following. He was a great guy and good friend, unfortunately he didn't reach out for help until he was too ill to recover.

The death is verified on the Social Security Death Index. A lot of mainstream news outfits are purposefully sitting on this story.

Has anyone on here been inside his house on N Knoll Drive? What was it like inside? Looks sort of weird from the street view, kind of a depressing blue industrial look.

Marc was a public figure, like it or not, and people are curious about his life. If he really had dreams of being a rock musician, followed by his high profile life involving Rock Hudson and later Rock Hudson's estate, he should have at least expected that curiosity, if not appreciated it somewhat. He did not lead his life anonymously.

The story continues... Marc if you are still alive, you are creating quite a stir.
