The Five Worst P.R. Pitches of All Time

You know, publicists' ideas of what would make a great story.

I get 'em all day long. Pitches aimed at a catcher with a limp wrist who keeps fumbling the ball!

I just don't give a shit!

The absolute worst volleys I tend to get are:

Hey, ladies, there's a comeback in the air, so you'd better watch your backs.

I just got this really inspiring press release.

"With his singing career on the rise again, style icon and celebrated R&B artist Chris Brown showed off his unique, fashion-forward style by sporting a brand new [blah blah] duffel bag when making the trip from NYC to Dallas this past weekend.

Celebrated photographer Patrick McMullan is the father of my godson and sort of the grandfather of my career in the public eye, since he was the first one to repeatedly train a lens on my puss and even get the pictures published.

And the bigger he gets, the more his archives are worth, which is why I'm thrilled that he just expanded even more by starting a very sleek online magazine.

Marc Jacobs Gets Naked Bang for His Buck

gossip2.jpg
People are still outraged over Marc Jacobs's mostly nude ad for his perfume BANG, which has the buff designer oiled like a salad spoon while holding an oversize package to cover his oversize package.

And the more they carry on about how vulgar it all is, the more the ad works!

For the release of her first adult film?"

That very email just came in from a publicist, and I immediately thought, "No way! Even I draw the line at a wife-shooter's 80th grasp at more notoriety (and cash)."

Have I been hallucinating or is that really said in the commercials for the new Ben Affleck film The Town?

Groupinfrontofscreen2-1.jpg

My long-running movie club hit the St. Regis Hotel not long ago, and to keep the magic going, we brought our act to the sparkly new Eventi the other night.

It's a gala world tour of hotels, all in Manhattan!

The backstory is that at the opening of the Chelsea boutique hotel (on 30th Street and Sixth Avenue), the gift bag included a coupon for a free night's stay there.

When I called to redeem it and told them it would be great if my club watched a movie in the room, they offered me the place's sumptuous fifth-floor screening room!

The Smiths in The Pursuit of Happyness
Jaden Smith is the talented star of the Karate Kid remake, and obviously his folks, Will and Jada Smith are OK with him doing that.

In fact, Will produced the movie and reportedly nabbed him the part. And the kid previously starred with dad in the well received The Pursuit of Happyness.

Snuggies Will Save Christmas

snuggie-breastcancer.jpg
I have the answer to all our economic woes! Buy Snuggies!

You know Snuggies. They're those very chic wearable blankets that they advertise on TV and which have apparently fallen off so many trucks that everywhere from Duane Reade to K Mart now carries them in bulk.

I bought a bunch of them for Christmas gifts because they're actually warm and useful, not to mention splashy looking (especially the zebra and hot pink prints) and they were only $15!

Is David Barton Gym The One For You?

Categories: Featured, PR

David Barton Astor (1).jpg
This past July, books gave way to bods as the Astor Place Barnes & Noble turned into a David Barton gym.

And what a place! Described as a "40,000 square foot, four-story mega gym," the space "has been transformed by Barton to be a total embodiment of the personality and history of its neighborhood, with every detail representing the purest in East Village culture.
