Nantucket Bay Scallops Have Entered the Building

The fishing season for Nantucket Bay scallops opened on November 1, and this morning the quarter-sized gems made their first appearance of the season at the Fulton Fish Market.

At Dorian's Seafood Market on the Upper East Side, the wait-list formed months ago, and Dorian herself tells us she pretty much sold out on day 1. But don't worry, she also said they'll be around for about 20 weeks, and possibly until around March 1. She also told us the scallops, which sell for $45/pound, are "sweet, mild, succulent, and absolutely delectable!"
