Our mother once shared with us the fact that she craved liverwurst daily while pregnant. At the time, that information only made us slightly gaggy and confirmed the idea that pregnancy leads directly to insanity. Of course, now we're all grown up, and we've grown to appreciate a truly superior liverwurst experience ourselves. Maybe not every day, but it's a good thing to have around. And our favorite comes from Flying Pigs Farm. It's rich but not overly funky, and has a subtle peppery kick. Pick it up tomorrow, and every Saturday, in Union Square or at Grand Army Plaza. And while you're at it, check out the pork belly, shoulder, ham hocks, and so on.
