Yesterday, Eater followed up on a reader tip that Union Square's The Coffee Shop had been "shuttered." When Eater called, the restaurant assured them they were just closed for renovations. We heard a rumor that L'Express, on Park Avenue South, was closed by the Health Department. Indeed, it is closed, but when we called, they also said they were renovating and would be open next week. What to believe? Is the DOH on a rampage through Union Square, making their way north?
