ETA for Gowanus Yacht Club, Red Hook Ball-Fields

The Gowanus Yacht Club, which has undergone some renovations in the off-season, will open this weekend--weather permitting. We hope the improvements include a bathroom safe for flip-flop wearers, but then again, part of the charm is the dysfunctional cruddiness. We hope it hasn't lost its heart.
It looks like the Red Hook Ball-fields are still a few weeks away from business. We made some calls to the Parks Department and found that the adult soccer league in Red Hook Park isn't on the schedule yet for any games. We will keep you posted, but it seems the good times will begin at the end of this month or the beginning of May.
