We had so much fun talking to Shane Coffey about his last meal this week. We almost felt like we had travelled back to his childhood in Dayton, Ohio, and eaten un-fresh fries with him and his friends. Almost.
After we hung up with the chef, who will cook his last meal at Alias at the end of this month (he is leaving New York to man the kitchen at Lulu Wilson in Aspen), he called back and said he had to add one thing. "I'd have to have a pint of Guinness at Molly's."
Also, if you're going to try his black pepper popcorn, don't get all fancy. Coffey says it works best on microwave popcorn, hot and steamy!
