Location, Location, Roti
In the last five years, EfV has moved from Astoria to Prospect Heights to Chelsea, and now, we're back to Brooklyn. As anyone who has been through the ordeal of searching for a home with a limited budget in this crazy city knows, you've got to weigh your priorities. I'm going with light over space, kitchen over bedroom, and proximity to deliciousness over view. For example, I'm considering a tiny studio in Flatbush because it has counter space in the kitchen, and Bam's Roti on the corner. Yesterday, I dined on a giant plate of curried chick peas, stewed lentils, rice and peas, and soft, deliciously slimy okra, plus grapefruit juice, for $7.
