Last year's Vendy Award, as you may remember, went to Sammy's Halal Cart, the delicious lamb-and-rice operation from Jackson Heights. This year's awards will take place on September 29 at a yet-undisclosed location.
It's time to nominate your favorite street vendor. We'll never stop rooting for the Dosa Man, who has come close both years the awards have been around. Here are some of our all-time favorites:
The Xinjiang BBQ cart on Main Street in Flushing, the tamale cart under the LIRR tracks in Woodside, the torta genius at Taco Mix in Sunset Park, and Eleazar Perez's braised goat tacos at the Red Hook Ballfields.
