Dumplings: Coming Soon

Posted by Nina Lalli at 7:25 PM, July 19, 2007

Rickshaw Dumpling Bar will be opening their second location at the end of August, and it's conveniently located for Voice staffers and angry teenaged loiterers (oh God, when did we get so old?), on East 8th Street. The other fast-casual/Fast food competition on the block: 'wichcraft, Cosi, Chipotle, and some pizza.

The company is planning on expanding further, for sure. "We're always looking," a spokesperson said, but officially, nothing else is in the works now.

Here are some details we got on Rickshaw's expansion, if it's of interest:

Rickshaw's food should be better than it is. I'm never as impressed with it as I want to be. If you told me that China North Dumpling (on Essex) was expanding to 8th Street, THEN, I'd be excited.

I have to say I'm a fan . . for the price, speed, and quality its hard to find a better place . . .the fried dumplings were clearly better then the steamed (duh!) but you can't go wrong with the duck or the pork. . .and the watermelon drink was a great way to wash it down

I am a huge fan of Rickshaw and happy to see they are doing so well. Even though I now live in Miami Beach, I always stop by Rickshaw when I visit home. LOVED the Watermelonaide!!!
