The Herring-Eating Boxer/Writer Fights Tonight!

Tonight, at Gleason’s Gym on Front Street in DUMBO, two writers will duke it out in the boxing ring. Jonathan “Herring Wonder” Ames, 43 years old, 157 pounds, will fight Craig “The Crippler” Davidson, 32 years old, 160 pounds, in an admitted publicity stunt. The sheer delight of watching two thinky types break each other's noses is enough of a reason to go, but we're particularly rooting for Ames, because he loves Russ and Daughters, and credits herring for his manly strength. Two questions: publicity for what? For herring? Another question-- why do grown men weigh so little? This is going to give me a complex.
