Pinkberry: Not Hollow on Purpose!

Posted by Nina Lalli at 2:59 PM, September 5, 2007

Last week, we wrote about the hollow-ness of Pinkberry's swirls, and a reader who is less lazy than we decided to email the company. We've just heard back from that reader, who got a response from Pinkberry HQ. Looks like someone's in trouble!

Hi xxx,

I am sorry that your Pinkberry was hollow in the middle. This is an on-going training issue that we have been working on for a while. Would you be able to give me the location that you received the hollow pinkberry, and I will follow up further with that location, and I would like to offer you a medium 3 item combo on me for the inconvenience. Without your feedback we could not get better.

Looking forward to hearing from you soon.

Regards,

Miguel Casiano

First I would like to say that I do enjoy a nice 8oz. Pinkberry Fro-Yo every now and then. Specially since I have been dealing with my weight for ever. You know how we women are, once we see in the Nutritional Facts Panel: No Calories...well we just go for it! I've been going to a nutritionist for the pass 4 months and literally hates Pinkberry (so the rest of her peers which they are 4 nutritionist in NYC) They have been researching Pinkberry since it came out, without obtaining any ingredients information, which I asked for it every time I go, they're politically correct answer is: We are not allowed to give that information, If you like you can log on to our website and bla bla bla..which they only have the same Nutritional Facts panel that they have in their counter. Don't take it wrong I do like it, but I prefer to have a fattening pint of Ben and Jerry's Baked Ice Cream and deal with it and know exactly what the ingredients are.
Eventually the truth will come out.

Sincerely,
Pinkberry sometimes groupie

I bet you can ask Miguel Casiano about what they put in it.

I can't believe that people are making a big deal out of this. Has everyone gone insane? Please get a life or see a therapist if this is an issue for you.

You know, the hollowness might give the Pinkberry some height... but they're still not cheating you out of any product because they weigh each cup (at least whenever I go in New York I see them weighing it). So an 8oz serving, is still 8oz, no matter how hollow it is.

I moved east from California a couple of years ago and have been eating fro-yo religiously since my childhood forays to Yogurt Park in the early 80's. I am amused by the right coast obsession with my favorite treat.

I tried Pinkberry about a week ago at their 240 E 82nd St. location. I really don't understand what all the fuss is about. The product was good but, through my travels in the Dominican Republic and Canada I came across the greatest of them all yogen fruz. It's made with real fruit and has a great taste. I've also tried Red mango and it's much better then Pinkberry.
