Calorie Listage Fallout

So it turns out the calorie listing laws (which will be enforced with fines starting next week) might actually be having an effect on what people order—which means it might also have an effect on what the restaurants serve. The amNY cover story this morning quotes plenty of people who have given up scones in favor of breakfast sandwiches and who are nixing burritos in favor of burrito bowls. Starbucks is the first chain to respond with new foods; they'll be rolling out healthier food options this fall.

Meanwhile, at Dunkin' Donuts, it turns out that most of their (tasty) donuts are in the 200 calorie range, while their (nasty) muffins clock in at about 400. That's an excellent reason to order a donut, which is what you wanted anyway.
