Incredibly Cheap Eats -- Whiting on Whole Wheat

DSC02121v.jpg
The scrumptious whiting sandwich at Dolphin (presumably, no dolphins were harmed)

In Uptown Manhattan the fish sandwich rules as a cheap tuck-in. And one of the best places to get them is in the seafood markets usually run by Koreans. These vertical operations fry up whatever filets they have on hand, and load the sandwich up with them. This beauty costs only $5, and was enough for two to satisfyingly share. The filets are crisp and hot, the tartar so thick that even a Frenchman would love it. And the whole wheat bread is, well, whole wheat bread, destined to scrape the goo from your insides as the sandwich is being digested.
