This Week in Openings

If you're looking for a lively, expensive meal, it can be had at the new Inakaya (231 West 40th Street) in the Times building. At the Japanese robatayaka, staffers scream out orders to cooks who grill the food while kneeling and serve it up using large paddles. The pricey menu includes a $65 Kinki fish, flown in daily from Tokyo.

Park Slope has a new sandwich shop in Crooked Tail Café (272 Third Avenue, Brooklyn) already making a name for itself with its lasagna Bolognese sandwich.

Fatty Crab UWS (2170 Broadway) will open next week. The menu is pretty much the same as the downtown location, but the larger space will seat 74.

Deniz (662 Fulton Street), a new Turkish restaurant, has come to Fort Greene, Brooklyn. Its owners also operate Istanbul Fast Food in Bensonhurst and decided to open a sit-down operation in the center of Ft. Greene's expanding restaurant scene.
