Now that the Obamas have started planting their garden, eating locally is sure to become more popular. You too can be an upstanding locavorous member of society at the simple touch of an LCD screen. The new iPhone Locavore app provides all the tools necessary to eat locally, from maps to the nearest farmer's market to information on seasonal produce. iPhone can already help you find your favorite cocktail recipe, should you ever find yourself trapped behind a bar, surrounded by booze with no idea what to do with it. Other new apps designed for hip foodies on the go include the iPhone Calorie Counter and ReadyPing, which allows restaurants to text you when your table is ready.
Not to be entirely outdone, BlackBerry has just launched GoodFoodNearYou, a free service that allows you to search for nutrition information on restaurant dishes.
