Remembering Bea Arthur with Lamb, Booze and Recreational Drugs

LA Weekly has a great piece about Bea Arthur, who passed away this weekend, and her leg-of-lamb bit, which was part of her Bea Arthur On Broadway: Just Between Friends one-woman show. Although it's a little off topic, we couldn't resist posting this great video of the husky Golden Girl singing "Puff, Swig, Puff" with Rock Hudson. The two sip their drinks as they croon about how recreational drugs have taken over popular culture. In the song, they reminisce about the days when "tea was brewed" and when knocking back a Pink Lady was considered "turning on," but the genius of the skit is that unspoken question: how do these two silver-haired gay icons know so much about getting high? Wouldn't we like to know.
