Obama's Foodie Poems Uncovered; Fast Food Secret Menus Revealed

Wired has the inside scoop on some popular food chains' secret menus: In-N-Out Burger's The Flying Dutchman (two beef patties, two cheese slices, no bun), Jamba Juice's extras of white gummi bears and strawberry shortcake, and Starbucks' Black Eye (a Red Eye with an extra shot of espresso).

The New York Times has dug up two poems written by Barack Obama from the Spring 1981 issue of "Feast," a student literary journal. One poem refers to his Pop's "Shot of Seagrams, neat," and the other to figs.

Whole Foods has been cutting costs, advertising its lower priced fare, and says it has seen significant deflation in its fresh produce prices.

If Cheerios is going to claim that its cereal is "clinically proven to lower cholesterol," the FDA is asking that it become approved as a drug. In a letter to the company, the FDA said that Cheerios "may not be legally marketed with the above claims in the United States without an approved new drug application."

Dutch food producers are cultivating a miniature melon they found in South America and brought back to the Netherlands. The Pepquino measures about an inch long and looks just like a watermelon.
