The Blogroll Gazette--Eat Me Daily Hypes Obama Food Book; The 'Bag Drools Over Men's Health' Pig Porn
This week in food blogs...
Eat Me Daily discovered a new book entitled The Obama Menu: Dining with Barack Obama, which compiles menus, photos, quotes, and recipes for dishes that Obama may have eaten. EMD was hardly thrilled by the spoiler alert, though: "Multiple appearances by food guru Alice Waters and the journey to the ultimate organic White House vegetable garden!"

Grub Street highlighted the other premiere of Food, Inc., an Angelika Film Center event on June 9 that will be hosted by food panel buds Alice Waters and Anthony Bourdain. GS also plugged the less-splashy Brooklyn event to be held at the Bell House at June 10 for $25 a head.
Midtown Lunch sinks its teeth into a sandwich version of the Bacon Explosion called a Bacon Implosion at Channel Four, and is a little disappointed by its lack of gross-out appeal, as well as its lack of, well, meat. But it's still a bargain at under $10, says ML.
The Feedbag approved of Men's Health's special pork feature, starring Wylie Dufresne, Akhtar Nawab, Pete Daversa, Michael Psilakis, Seamus Mullen, Lidia Bastianich, and Michael Anthony, deeming it "a righteous piece of pork porn, packed with recipes, a guide to the different breeds, and of course oblique character sketches of the men who love pork."
The Food Section found a new gastronome-targeted vacation idea. Apple Core Hotels' Gelato Tour travel package includes accommodation and a $30 credit towards scoops from Grom, L'Arte Del Gelato, and Cones in what has been renamed the "Gelato District" (formerly known as the West Village).
