Mark Federman of Russ & Daughters will host a guided tasting of its most famous products like lox and herring at Astor Center this Wednesday.
Artisanal Premium Cheese Center is offering a Bombay Sapphire gin cocktail and cheese pairing class this Thursday. Fromager Waldemar Albrecht and mixologist James Moreland will lead the class.
Crawfish with fixin's, including all-you-can-drink beer and Hurricanes, will be the order of the day at the Crawfish Boil for NOLA 2009 at SolarONE in Stuy Cove Park this Saturday. Proceeds go to the Make It Right Foundation.
Paisley Farm, an organic farm in Tivoli, New York, will lead a secret ramp hunt this Saturday and next. Expert forager Mike Kokas will offer tips about ramp habitat before heading out to gather ramps. Then, back at the farm, learn how to cook ramps and enjoy an outdoor lunch.
The Alliance for Downtown New York will sponsor Downtown Eats food tours led by cookbook author Alexandra Leaf in May. "Downtown Eats: A Taste of Lower Manhattan's Past" is the the first event in the program, to be held this Saturday.
