The gastronomification of Metropolitan Avenue continues apace: Free Williamsburg reports that Joe Carroll, the owner of Fette Sau and Spuyten Duyvil, is busy crafting a "haute snack food joint" in the building next door to his Belgian beer shrine. The new place will offer high-falutin' takes on such Jersey diner staples as hot dogs and disco fries, and will open sometime in the fall. As has already been reported, Carroll will have some similarly food-fetishized neighbors, with Marlow & Son's Caroline Fidanza opening Saltie's nearby and Pies & Thighs' Stephen Tanner taking over the old Black Betty space on the corner of Metropolitan and Havemeyer.
