Japanese Still Obsessed With Oddly Shaped Watermelons

The Japanese fetish for unnaturally shaped watermelons shows no sign of abating. Following reports of square, heart-shaped, and even testicle-shaped watermelons being all the rage among foodists in Japan, a pyramid-shaped watermelon craze has overtaken the city of Fukoka, where a 10-inch watermelon is on sale for 52,500 yen or $556.
