Mysterious New Chinese Fast Food Franchise: Kung Fu Bing

• I want to talk about windows7 software for our phones. I think, it's not enough good yet You�ll be telling me this thing can't be used to phone.What I meant to say what type of evolued phone is this phone ? Does it�s antenna even work?

• FYI...A chinese radio station was broadcasting live this weekend from this location. The restaurant is a product of China. It originated in Shanghai and is supposedly all over China. The owner is trying to branch out to the U.S.; they had originally planned to start out on the West Coast but decided on the East Coast instead. If this store does well, expect to see more stores around the city. Also, they claim that their bubble tea is from a famous Taiwan bubble tea place (Taiwan being the origins of the bubble tea). Based on Ella's bubble tea review, doesn't make we want to try it anymore.

• I've been to KFB a few times now and am pretty satisfied each time I go. The bings are very dense and filling, and I got a bunch of promotional grand opening coupons that gave me free ones. I had the beef and egg bing today and it was delicious! The eggs are not premade; the one in my bing looked like a normal fried egg with distinct egg white and yolk. The pancakes are flavorful albeit oily. But I recommend this place! Give it a chance!

• I tried a plain bing yesterday and was kinda disappointed. While it was relatively tasty (reminiscent of a Malaysian roti canai), they sprinkled it with what I think was an MSG-laced spice mix, based on how I felt afterward. So it didn't leave me wanting to go back, and I thought the veggies (lettuce, tomato, etc) that they were putting in other customers' bings looked pretty lackluster. The photos of the bing fillings didn't look particularly appealing, either - they definitely look like fast food (premade eggs), which is ok but not what I want in Chinatown. I might give them a second chance, though, based on Ella's praise. The staff were certainly nice, if a bit unorganized.

• Bing is just the Mandarin word for pancake, as John says.... So, I just ate at Kung Fu Bing, and their bubble teas are eh, okay. You can tell most of them are made from powdered mixes. (Maybe I'll just have a regular tea next time.) Their bing sandwiches, however, were really good-- The scallion pancakes (slightly flakey like soft phyllo bread when fresh and greasy when stale) are used like pita breads. The "regular" I ordered had lettuce, tomato, and some lightly pickled veggies in it. It was pretty damn tasty. Oh, and I suspect that store no. 10001 indicates the zip code, though it would be fun to think that it's the sign of many more Kung Fu Bings to come.

• A word that sounds like "bing" is a type of Chinese flatbread. It can be found around Flushing. As it is reheated by frying, it tends to be oily. Who knows about a fast-food version? Microsoft has probably trade-marked the word "bing", as they have "windows".

• Of course, Kung Fu Bing! I lied, that was mean of me. But I love a mystery! I got the courage to call the Franchise Hot Line, as posted on the storefront, and it rang and went to "Please let a message at the tone." In English. And "Store No. 10001" seems like the beginning of a series, and an ambitious series at that, if it can go up to 100,000 (minus 1).
