Open & Closed: Say Hello to Cafe Regular du Nord; Goodbye to Village
Cafe Regular Du Nord has opened about a mile north of the original Cafe Regular. The new location was opened by Richard O'Connell, brother of Martin, who owns Regular.
Fashion designer Marc Bagutta is opening an eatery in the former Cafe Fresh space in Morningside Heights. Cafe Bagutta will serve up continental cuisine, coffee, and wine seven days a week, as well as "the soul, and the music of old Spanish Harlem."

Rene Hernandez, El Bulli-trained chef-owner of Don Pedro's on the Upper East Side, will open Crudo next week, a Euro-Caribbean restaurant specializing in raw fish and small plates, such as tuna tartare, Chilean sea bass ceviche, and salmon tiraditos.
West Village mainstay Village has shuttered after a decade of operation because the landlord tried to renew the lease at double the former rent, which the owners say "the current business environment would not allow us to do."
City Burger in Midtown will apparently shut down to make room for the Schnitzel Glatt Kosher Express. The Abitino's, which owns City Burger, said the Pat LaFrieda-sourced burger joint was sold.
