Chanterelle is closing its doors for at least two months' worth of renovations August 16. A bar is planned for the space, as well as an expanded menu. Owners Karen and David Waltuck are saying goodbye -- for now, at least -- with a Smoky Sunday of Blues, Beer & Bites this Sunday from 3 p.m.-5 p.m. Live performances by jazz men Marvin Sewell and Saunders Sermon will be paired with craft beers from Fire Island Brewery, Ubu Ale, and Keegan Ales, as well as David's Cold Smoked Corn Chowder, Tea Smoked Duck with Potato Salad, and Warm Smoked Oysters and Bacon.

"Our Sunday salons have always been a casual way to bring together friends, family, and guests, and this marriage of music, food, and beer is the perfect note to end this year's series and inaugurate the changes ahead," says David. "It's a fitting finale before closing for renovations and reopening for our 30th anniversary this fall."
