Dole Goes Public Again; Vendy Finalists Announced
Dole Food has filed the paperwork to go public, the second time it has done so after going private in 2003. The company, currently owned by L.A. billionaire David Murdock, hopes to raise $500 million.

An unhealthy obsession with eating healthy, referred to as orthorexia nervosa, is on the rise. Sufferers tend to be over 30, middle class, and well-educated. Orthorexics fixate on the "purity" of what they eat, which can lead to malnutrition.
The five finalists for the 2009 Vendy Award have been announced: Freddy Zeidaies's Falafel King cart in Queens; Meru Sikder's Biryani Cart in midtown; Jamaican Dutchy, also in midtown; Red Hook's Country Boys food truck; and Anita Lo's Rickshaw Dumpling Bar.
