Vendy Dessert Nominees Are Here
In a welcome break from the Midtown food truck wars, The Street Vendors Project has released its list of Vendy Awards nominees in its Dessert Truck category. The finalists for the award, which will be handed out on September 26, are:

Thomas DeGeest, Wafels & Dinges
Lev Ekster, Cupcake Stop
The Dessert Truck, which won't be able to participate this year due to prior developments
Quint and Ekster have already registered their excitement and gratitude on their Twitter pages: "What great company we're in for the Vendys," Quint writes, thanking "those who took the time to nominate." Ekster seems pretty confident of his chances for the award: "We intend to have that 1st place trophy on truck soon!" No word from DeGeest, though the waffle man does offer free dinges today to anyone who answers the question, "What is your
favorite French car?" His, for the record, is the Citroen DS.
