Whole Foods CEO John Mackey Against Health Care Reform
Did you once boycott Domino's Pizza because of its support of the anti-abortion movement and other right wing causes? Well, here's another politically retrograde business to add to your boycott list: Whole Foods.
According to an article in the current Counterpunch by Russell Mokhiber, of singlepayeraction.org, Whole Foods founder John Mackey is behind an initiative to defeat Obama's health care plan. Mackey's invective is found in a recent Wall Street Journal article, in which he quotes former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher: "The problem with socialism is that eventually you run out of other people's money."
Mokhiber calls for a boycott of Whole Foods, and suggests your money is better spent at health food stores and farmers markets.
