"Crazy Landlord"'s Storefront Rented, Finally

The plastered-over storefront at the corner of Second Avenue and East 3rd Street has finally found a tenant, according to EV Grieve. The large space, which had sat vacant for years, has for the past few months sported a sign urging interested parties to call its "crazy landlord." Now, it appears that the space is set to become a Belgian ale house. Given its location just four blocks south of Belgian brew shrine Burp Castle -- not to mention the other establishments on East 7th Street's tavern row -- and its location on this otherwise alcohol-saturated stretch of Second Avenue, expect the proprietors of the would-be bar to have a truly crazy time of it at the upcoming SLA & DCA Licensing Committee Meeting on September 14.
