Plums in the Farmers Markets Now
Plums are almost at the end of their season at area farmers markets, and the fruit is especially sweet this year, perfect for making a crostata or a compote, or just eating raw and letting the juices drip all over your shirt. Pictured above are four varieties currently available from Red Jacket Orchards (victory, yellow egg, greengage, and blueberry), most at $1.75 per pound. An additional four varieties are available, including Japanese satsuma.
