Simon Sips Has Sipped Its Last

The old Tasting Room space on East 1st Street has claimed its first victim: Simon Sips, the winsome coffee bar that opened to favorable reviews last December, has closed. The establishment's founder and namesake, Simon Mammon, parted ways with his business partner in July, telling Fork in the Road at the time that business had been slow. Now, with the gate down and phone calls going unanswered, it looks like it's come to a permanent standstill.
