The Food Section noticed that Top Chef alum Fabio Viviani's new cookbook cover is suspiciously similar to that of Ludovic Lefebvre's Crave back in 2005: Both feature the chefs catching fish with their bare hands.

The Feedbag pointed to a Citysearch roundup of six songs inspired by New York, including Jay Z's "Dirt Off Your Shoulder," which references his club 40/40, and Suzanne Vega's "Tom's Diner," inspired by Tom's Restaurant (of Seinfeld fame).

Midtown Lunch weighed in on the ongoing debate over which city has better food carts -- New York or Portland, Oregon: "In the end it's not really a fair fight."

Serious Eats asked if bartending education, which is the latest trend in the cocktail renaissance, is a waste of time. According to a couple of blogger-bartenders, it is.
