Back in April, FiTR noted that the Black Horse Pub would be opening in the South Slope by the end of May. That proved not to be the case. But according to its website, the pub, located at the corner of 16th Street and Fifth Avenue, gallops into existence tonight with an opening party that commences at 7 p.m. The website still doesn't offer many details about the food, aside from promising Irish, American, and British dishes by "renowned Lancashire chef" Mick Baldwin -- who was once the chef for the football team the Blackburn Rovers -- as well as full English breakfast to be served during sporting events and Sunday roasts with Yorkshire pudding "and all the trimmings." The drinks menu is a bit more detailed, listing 16 imported and domestic beers on tap as well as a full liquor selection.
