Open & Closed: Say Hello to Travertine; Goodbye to (the Other) Tea Lounge

Danae Cappelletto, a former restaurant manager in her native Australia, has opened Travertine in the space formerly occupied by Little Charlie's Clam House on Kenmare Street. The menu, by Manuel Trevino, is Mediterranean.

Hotelier Andre Balazs has introduced The Boom Boom Room, the first in a series of upper-level venues in his Meatpacking District hotel, the Standard. The 18th floor lounge offers panoramic views of the city, and boasts two outdoor terraces.

Luke Holden, a former Maine lobsterman, is opening Luke's Lobster in the East Village, with his dad, Jeff. Expect $14 big lobster rolls, $8 mini lobsters rolls, shrimp and crab rolls, as well as chowder and bisque.

The Tea Lounge in Cobble Hill is set to close, just a few months after its sister location in Park Slope closed due to a rent hike. Rumors of a new Tea Lounge location in Brooklyn Heights have circulated.

Lulu on Mulberry Street has shuttered. The restaurant closed temporarily for San Gennaro, and the owners have since received "an offer they couldn't refuse." Certain staff members will move to Lulu's sister restaurant, Bread.
